Entrepreneur of the Month : May


I am proud to announce that our chosen Entrepreneur of the Month in Gordon's Bay is Anton Gerber the owner of AH Gerber Chartered Accountants! 

AH Gerber Accountants was formed in 2011 after a decision to move to the beautiful Cape. Anton has had provided tax and accounting services to individuals and small businesses since 1995 and his employment roles in management gave him a wider perspective on business. As quoted by Anton 'I am a strong believer in doing things ethically, professionally and within the ambit of the law'.


Anton qualified as a CA (SA) in 1988 after obtaining a B Com and Hons B Compt degrees.  An M Com degree followed in 1998.  He started his career at one of the big 4 accounting and auditing firms as part of the business services team. He then joined SARS and later a listed company as an Internal Audit manager where he was responsible for internal audits, audit committee reporting, fraud investigations, risk assessments, system design and evaluations and providing management with business, procedural and control systems recommendations. Anton has more than 25 years’ experience in providing accounting and tax services to individuals and small and medium enterprises. He is also a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), is a Pastel Accounting Forum member and is currently the Treasurer of the Gordon's Bay Business Forum.

Entrepreneur of the Month : February 2012

Wow its been such a busy start to the year! We have big plans for 2012 for Gordon's Bay and its really wonderful to see people pulling together to support our local businesses. It gives me great pleasure to announce that our chosen Entrepreneur of the Month for February is Isabella Brummer, owner of Designer Pawz Pet Spa in Gordon's Bay.



Isabella has been in the pet grooming industry for the last 15 years and has opened a doggie parlour in Gordon's Bay on the corner of Miller Street and Sir Lowry Street. Isabella takes pride in providing a clean, comfortable salon so that you and your pet will have a safe and pleasant visit. She really goes the extra mile for her clients, and this is certainly not your average doggie or pet parlour.

In her own words 'At Designer Pawz every dog is top of it's class! We offer a professional, quality & complete dog grooming service and the finished result is a happy, calm, clean and Stylish client!' We have just installed a mosaic water feature outside Designer Pawz simply to cater for our thirsty doggie clients who may be walking past our shop on their way back from the beach. Our water fountain is free and some of our dog visitors even choose to sit in it to cool down!


Designer Pawz Pet Spa is ozonated with heppa filtration to kill all bacteria and diseases on the spot, and your pets get a healthy dose of pure ozone. The layout is open, and lends a comfortable feeling. Our prices are very competitive and thus we have a broad client base in the Helderberg area, Stellenbosch and people as far as Cape Town feel we are worth the 40min drive considering the exceptional care their pets get at our Doggie Spa'.

ENTREPRENEUR OF THE MONTH : JANUARY 2012

Well 2012 got off to a speedy start and before we knew it, Christmas and New Year was over and I had become a grandpa for the 1st time! It gives me great pleasure to announce that it is time to choose an Entrepreneur in Gordons Bay for their contribution as a business to our town. Our chosen Entrepreneur of the Month for January 2012 are Joe Doubell, Keryn Doubell and Lourens Van Wyk the owners of Zenergy Lighting and Energy Consulting in Gordon's Bay!


Zenergy Lighting and Energy Consulting was founded in 2010 and is situated on the corner of Faure Marine Drive and Miller Street in Gordon's Bay. Their customers are Business Owners and Home Owners or basically anyone who uses electricity! Their products amongst others are heat pumps, LED's, lighting (decorative, commercial and industrial) and they offer services such as electrical installations, lighting design and energy audits. Zenergy's goal and company motto is 'To provide lighting design, energy efficiency and excellence while building strong relationships with those we serve'

Zenergy identifies 'the level of energy efficiency and cost saving' that has to be achieved for their clients, plan the solution, implement and then offer technical support after the installation.
